- GOP gave tax breaks to everyone... and f'd up the economy doing it! We had a surplus (Clinton), remember! The tax breaks weren't intended for the 99%, but they needed to tie them together with the 1% so whenever they expired they would expire on us all! It was a ploy to protect the 1% tax cut.
